Helping People and Organizations Thrive Instead of Survive
For years in my work in economic development, I worked alongside entrepreneurs and would watch as they would navigate the ups and downs of growing a business. My team and I would often ask them, “what problem are you trying to solve?” For the past 16 months I’ve been growing my own business and building my tool kit to help solve the problem of burnout, exhaustion and a general lack of wellbeing. I’ve come to understand that the problem exists on both the individual and systemic level. A 2023 Zippia study found that 89% of workers have experienced burnout within the past year and 70% of professionals feel that employers aren’t doing enough to prevent and alleviate burnout.
As a coach, I work with people (executives, leaders and individuals) seeking to increase self-awareness and put tools into place to decrease stress and develop habits to increase their everyday wellbeing. I’ve also been consulting with teams inside organizations to have honest, real conversations on how systems can be improved to better support people, and in turn increase innovation and performance. I have found that workplace dynamics are most impacted by individuals who are not self -aware, poor communication in workplace relationships, and often a need for more emotional intelligence. Through mediation I have had the opportunity to work one on one with people to understand the impact they make on the people around them and how a shift in their behavior can just as easily create a positive ripple if they are intentional and self-aware. Finally, as a speaker I provide context, tools and education around the terms of wellbeing, burnout, and emotional intelligence. I am always amazed at the questions and ah-ha moments that come when space is held for people to digest and become aware of how they are attending to their own wellbeing. I continue to learn, grow and build my own tool kit to support those I work alongside. I’ve worked as a lawyer, mediator and CEO. I am a certified coach and hold certifications in the Science of Wellbeing and Emotional Intelligence from Yale and Mindfulness from Positive Psychology. If I can assist you or your organization, reach out and we can discuss a customized solution. This is not an easy problem to solve and there are an overwhelming number of solutions people can access. My approach is to hold space for transformation, provide resources and serve as an accountability partner. I work with people and organizations to develop more self-awareness, create stronger boundaries, increase emotional intelligence and get clear on their values, strengths and areas where they desire growth.
